Seeking a Human Resources Officer for a Not-for-Profit organisation in Cairns. Your new company An organisation built on providing culturally appropriate and family centred health care, this not-for-profit organisation services 11 Cape York communities, five communities in the Northern Peninsula Area and one in the Torres Strait. Due to an opening in the HR team, HAYS are pleased to partner with this organisation and are now seeking a Human Resources Officer on a permanent, full-time basis.
Your new role Reporting to the Workforce Manager, you will be responsible for providing high quality support to the Workforce Manager and organisational managers for the delivery of a range of human resource services. The position will focus on the employment cycle including recruitment, onboarding, support in the probation and performance review processes, together with the provision of general human resource advice.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will require:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Human Resources or Business discipline with a focus on human resources are highly desirable. Demonstrated previous experience supporting and coordinating complex Human Resources processes across the employment cycle. The ability to coordinate recruitment and selection activities. Demonstrated experience in providing industrial relations advice to management. The ability to interpret organisational policies and procedures, Employment Agreements, and relevant legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009 Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement Current Queensland Drivers Licence AFP National Police Check What you'll get in return In return for your hard work, you will be rewarded with a full-time permanent opportunity based in Cairns.
