Reporting to the Quality Co-Ordinator, as the Quality Control Technician you will evaluate the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations working in an industrial lab and adjacent manufacturing facility This is a dynamic, hands-on role involving a level of physical activity such as cutting and lifting pipe samples, pushing trolleys and assembling/preparing and testing test samples. The role will operate under the site Enterprise Bargaining Agreement on a 12-hour dayshift, 7-day roster system. What will you do? Perform routine process and product inspection/testing/verification in accordance with approved test plans, ensuring the quality of products before release to customers Approve release of product to customers Ensure non-conforming product is controlled properly Check for irregularities and defects using visual means and testing equipment Conduct basic checks/audits etc of the process of making pipe Assist with provision of training and assessment of employees involved in inspection and testing of our products Commitment to company safety and quality policies Being pro-active and responsive to non-compliant products and potential threats to quality through quarantine and prevention tactics About You You will need to be comfortable in working 12-hour day shifts (6am – 6pm), 7-day roster with alternate weekends. This is a 42-hour nominal working week. You will have an eye for detail, be able to work autonomously with effective time-management skills. Ideally, you will have experience in quality control or internal testing of products or have a passion for it.
