Job Description
This is a remote position.
Job highlights:
Part-time, 25 hours / week
Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2:00pm Brisbane time
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
Develop and post job advertisements that clearly define roles and responsibilities, in compliance with NDIS standards.
Conduct initial screening of applicants, ensuring they meet the necessary qualifications, including screening and working with Children Checks.
Organize and conduct interviews, providing guidance to hiring managers on best practices.
Manage the onboarding process, including the induction of new employees, ensuring they understand NDIS compliance requirements and organizational policies.
Ensure that all recruitment and onboarding documentation is accurate and complete, and complies with Australian employment law and NDIS requirements.
2. Employee Relations:
Act as the primary contact for employee queries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts in accordance with Australian guidelines, promoting a positive and fair work environment.
Implement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture, including regular feedback sessions and employee recognition programs.
3. Training and Development:
Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs that comply with NDIS standards.
Ensure all employees complete mandatory NDIS-related training, including safeguarding and workplace safety.
Support the development of career paths within the organization, including succession planning.
4. HR Compliance and Administration:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with Australian laws and NDIS standards.
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Australian labor laws.
Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring all HR practices and records are in full compliance with NDIS requirements.
5. Performance Management:
Manage the performance appraisal process, providing support to managers and ensuring that feedback is constructive and aligned with organizational goals.
Develop and implement performance improvement plans for underperforming employees, in accordance with Fair Work Australia guidelines.
Promote a culture of continuous feedback, encouraging regular communication between staff and management.
6. Workplace Health and Safety (WHS):
Ensure the organization complies with all Australian WHS regulations, including conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols.
Manage workplace incidents, ensuring they are reported, documented, and resolved in compliance with WHS and NDIS standards.
Coordinate return-to-work programs for injured employees, working with relevant stakeholders to facilitate a safe and effective return.
7. Policy Development and Implementation:
Develop and implement HR policies that align with best practices, NDIS standards, and Australian labor law.
Ensure all employees are aware of and understand HR policies, providing training and resources as needed.
Regularly review and update HR policies to reflect changes in legislation or organizational needs.
8. Strategic HR Planning:
Conduct workforce planning to ensure the organization has the right number of staff with the right skills to meet service demands.
Develop and implement succession plans for key roles within the organization.
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that support the organization's long-term goals.
9. Technology and HR Systems:
Manage the organization's HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring it is up-to-date and used effectively.
Ensure that all employee data is stored securely and in compliance with Australian data protection regulations.
Generate HR reports and metrics, providing insights to management on workforce trends, turnover, and other key indicators.
Develop and promote employee wellbeing programs, including mental health initiatives and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).
Promote work-life balance through flexible working arrangements and other initiatives.
Provide support services for employees experiencing personal or work-related challenges.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant HR certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) are a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role,preferably within the disability services or healthcare sector.
Experience with employee relations, recruitment, and HR compliance.
Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and employee record management software (e.g., Reckon, SAP).
Familiarity with Australian employment law, Fair Work regulations, and NDIS standards is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
