The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is looking to create a Talent Pool of talented HR Managers to fill temporary and ongoing vacancies across our divisions.DCJ works with children, young people, adults, families, and communities to support vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive communities. DCJ is focused on achieving safe, just, inclusive, and resilient communities by providing services that are effective and responsive to community needs.Your roleAs a HR Manager, Business Partnering, at DCJ, you will leverage your extensive HR experience to provide high-level strategic support to managers at all levels in various business units across DCJ, such as Corrective Services NSW, Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery (CTSD), Law Reform and Legal Services (LRLS), Homes NSW, Child Protection and Permanency, and/or Corporate Services.As an experienced HR leader, you will be instrumental in driving HR best practice and leading HR initiatives that align with our strategic objectives. Your leadership style will be transformational, people-centred, and respectful, and you will have exceptional collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills.In addition to leading and developing a team with various direct reports, providing strategic advice to all levels of management, and anticipating and addressing potential industrial risks before they arise, some of the key focus areas for this role will be:Complex case management, including grievances and performance management.Talent development, including coaching and succession planning.Employee relations.Change management.Workplace culture.Workforce and organisational design.Diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives.Operational and strategic workforce planning.Our roles are flexible with hybrid working (3 days in an office and 2 days working from home). Travel throughout the Sydney Metro Region and/or across NSW may be required to provide onsite advice and support to our clients.What we're looking forIn addition to meeting the essential requirements outlined in the Role Description, we are looking for people with:Qualifications in HR or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.Extensive HR Business Partnering experience, preferably within the public sector or large, complex organisations.People leadership experience with a passion for employee development and building a positive team culture.Strategic HR experience, including experience developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organisational goals.Exceptional stakeholder engagement experience with the ability to develop strong partnering relationships with all levels of management.Sound written and oral communication skills with the ability to present on a range of HR topics to promote and support workforce strategies.Demonstrable understanding of legislative requirements and employee and industrial relations.HR systems experience, with the ability to research and analyse information to make recommendations.A high level of resilience, motivation, and perseverance.Applications should be submitted directly via the DCJ Careers site.Are you ready to join us?Click apply, attach an up-to-date resume (maximum 5 pages) and a cover letter (maximum 2 pages) including a response detailing how you meet the below target questions:Describe a time where you have developed staff within your team?
