The Role We're looking for a Lawyer who thrives in a diverse and dynamic environment to join our Sydney Litigation team.
Our Litigation practice offers diversity of matters, which will offer intellectually complex and innovative thinking.
You will join a close-knit team under the guidance of Brit Ibanez, National Head of Litigation.
Working closely with the Senior Lawyers and Lawyers of similar experience to you, you will have the opportunity to develop and collaborate.
The types of matters you will be involved in includes: Providing officers and boards with comprehensive advice in advance of making critical board decisions and general corporate governance.
Advising insolvency practitioners and conducting litigation relating to restructures and insolvent entities.
Defending investigations and prosecutions brought by ASIC against companies and individuals for breaches of the Corporations Act 2001.
Resolving shareholder oppression actions.
Conducting litigation in regards to disputed contract rights and obligations.
Advising responsible entities and trustees on the operation and management of their schemes.
Acting for parties in joint venture, partnership and M&A disputes.
Financial services disputes and complaints.
About you: As a curious and analytical thinker passionate about solving challenges, you will thrive in our fast-paced and collaborative culture, where innovative thinking is encouraged and rewarded.
You will possess: 1-5 years' legal experience Post Admission; Litigation experience, ideally in a commercial litigation team; A genuine passion for disputes matters and a desire to develop your skills; The ability to work in a close-knit, high-performing and collaborative team; and An entrepreneurial and innovative mind-set.
