Description and Requirements Position Description: Lenovo is seeking an experienced, innovative Enterprise Architect- with in-depth knowledge or experience in High Performance Computing, with a focus on as a Service to complement our TruScale Hybrid Cloud Services offering.
This strategic role requires an expert with extensive knowledge in how HPC solutions are designed, deployed, and managed.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HPC technologies, cloud integration and the expertise to deliver these systems as scalable services to a global clientele, in a way to address market trends and futures.
The correct candidate will also own and contribute to the TruScale for HPC roadmap.
The chosen candidate will be part of Lenovo Solutions & Services Group (SSG) TruScale Hybrid Cloud Services organization and work closely with the HPC Practice for service offering design, architecture, definition, development, and build for our Professional Services, Managed Services, and TruScale Services businesses.
This role is primarily internal but includes some customer-facing work.
This is a remote-only role.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone involved in HPC from a solution architect or technical delivery lead perspective and understands the market direction.
The candidate should have experience working with HPC, product management, pre-sales, sales and marketing.
The candidate must demonstrate expertise in developing as-a-service solutions and architectures that customers consume.
In this role, you will: : Design state-of-the-art HPC solutions that integrate with cloud services to provide scalable and efficient HPCaaS with a focus on TruScale.
Focus on creating flexible architectures that support dynamic scaling and multi-tenancy.
: Define and refine HPCaaS offerings from an architectural and technical perspective, ensuring they are aligned with business goals and customer needs.
Led the transition of traditional HPC systems into "as-a-service" models, including subscription-based and on-demand services.
: Stay at the forefront of HPC and cloud computing trends to guide the development of new services.
Propose innovative solutions that leverage emerging technologies to enhance service offerings and operational efficiency.
: Work closely with the HPC practice, R&D, sales, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure that the HPCaaS solutions meet market needs and are communicated effectively.
: Mentor to  foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement, whie addressing market trends.
: Implement best practices for monitoring, managing, and optimizing the performance and cost-effectiveness of HPCaaS environments.
: Develop and enforce stringent security protocols and compliance measures to protect data and operations in multi-tenant HPC environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
At least ten years of experience in HPC architecture with a deep understanding of cloud technologies and as-a-service delivery models.
Extensive experience in HPC architecture and design, with a proven track record of bringing complex HPC solutions to market Experience designing and delivering HPC solutions on public, private, and on-premises infrastructure.
Deep knowledge of HPC technologies, including InfiniBand, SpectrumScale (GPFS), Lustre, and other file systems, cluster management tools, and scheduling software such as SLURM, Torque, LSF, and PBSPro.
Expertise in cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.
Strong capabilities in system security, virtualization technologies, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Experience working in a multi-vendor, multi-cloud environment.
Excellent communication skills, including communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Lenovo's management tools like LiCO and XClarity Controller is a plus.
Expertise in Lenovo server technologies, including direct water cooling (DWC).
Industry knowledge and experience with HPC solutions deployed for various environments and use cases.
