THE ROLETenancy and Property Officers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of client-centred services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing.This role is part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing.Based in offices across the state and working across two teams, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and/or the provision of housing advice and assistance that may include: managing and maintaining tenanciesproviding support and information on servicesidentifying and assessing Victorians' housing needs and their eligibility for servicesallocating rental properties to eligible applicantsvisiting and working with renters to resolve tenancy issuesensuring maintenance work is carried out on renters' homes.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Assess client's needs and provide comprehensive advice on housing options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards.Make appropriate referrals to internal or external support service providers in order to assist clients with their short-term housing needs.Prepare routine cases with well-established procedures and represent the department at tribunals.Please open the position description to read more.COVID-19 VACCINATIONThe department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current , given their individual circumstances.As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.HOW TO APPLY Applicants are encouraged to apply online.Attachments can be uploaded in .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt or .rtf formats.Applicants are required to submit a CV and Cover Letter (max 2 pages) outlining their suitability to the role in line with the Key Selection Criteria.Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.Preferred candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including a national police check and misconduct screening.Please apply to submit your interest in this position.
