These values are lived throughout the organisation across each department, role and location. About the Role The MBPH Mental Health Services (MHS) Suicide Prevention Program has been developed as part of the Victorian State Government's Plan to halve the suicide rate by 2025.
The aim of MBPH-MHS Suicide Prevention Program is to provide person-centred clinical, psychosocial and peer support interventions that are crucial in achieving optimum health and wellbeing, and in reducing the risk of suicide (re)attempts & completed suicides.
The Intake and Engagement Clinician will be the point of entry into the Suicide Prevention Program and will provide specialist assessment and care planning for consumers who have been referred.
Working with a team under the direction of a Program Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist(s), they will conduct non-urgent, comprehensive assessments and provide the initial care coordination for the consumer.
The position is full-time, rostered Monday to Friday.
About You To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist and hold a current registration and/or accreditation with the appropriate body.
You will also have extensive experience in a clinical mental health setting along with demonstrated experience & skill in the direct clinical care (assessment, care planning & treatment intervention); and case coordination of consumers experiencing suicidality (attempt and ideation).

Remuneration This position is classified as an RN3, SW2, OT2 or Psych2 under the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement.
