Zeal Futures have multiple apprenticeships available. Gain a Certificate III Horticulture - Parks and Gardens over 36 months through an apprenticeship that provides a unique blend of formal training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and hands-on experience within Camden's rapidly expanding Local Government area with our Host Employer, Camden Council. You'll have the opportunity to take on a wide range of responsibilities and work exclusively in the field, experiencing various conditions of the local government area in all weather conditions. You'll be collaborating with seasoned professionals and will be guaranteed a comprehensive learning experience. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll receive full support to develop skills that will pave the way for a fulfilling career in horticulture. Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to: Maintain lawns and grassy areas using a variety of mowing equipment.Trim and edge lawns to ensure a neat and tidy appearance.Shape and maintain shrubs and trees, including chainsaw work.Help keep parks and gardens clean by collecting and disposing of litter.Operate vehicles and machinery as required for various tasks.Control and remove weeds using manual and chemical methods.Complete associated paperwork and use electronic devices to maintain records and communicate within the team.Who We're Looking For? Reliable and committed to completing the apprenticeship and excelling in your role.Enthusiastic about learning and growing and welcomes constructive feedback.Able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.Enjoys working or being outdoors and can demonstrate a genuine passion for the environment.Excels in a team and participates in collaborating towards team goals.Capable of understanding and executing tasks as directed.Ability to use computer systems and software.Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and clearly.Holds a WHS Construction Industry Induction (White Card) or is willing to obtain before commencing.Understands and takes safety seriously, identifying risks or hazards.Possession of a P1 or higher driver's license is also required.This position requires full vaccination for COVID-19 or willingness to obtain to meet the Council's WHS requirements and COVID-19 Safety Plans.
