Job Description - High Voltage Commissioning Engineer (261718) About the Role UGL's Engineering Division is seeking experienced High Voltage Commissioning Engineers to join our team in our Brisbane or Sydney head office with FIFO and DIDO options also available. In this role, some of your responsibilities will include:
Assist in preparation of testing and commissioning documentation including ITP's, ITC's, commissioning management plans, energisation staging plans, test procedures and other related documents. Carry out factory acceptance testing of control buildings and switch rooms at manufacturers' premises, liaise with HVAC, fire and security contractor interface to control and switch room and sign off FAT completion certificates. Carry out site inspections and acceptance testing of primary equipment, integrating primary and secondary systems testing functionality of subsystems and systems. Integrate site to remote control centre, test interfaces to AEMO and NSP. Assist commissioning managers with HV audit, NER sign offs, interface with testing contractors and energisations of installation. Assist with training preparation, training delivery and commissioning documentation and handover activities. Lead hands-on testing and commissioning of protection relays, SCADA systems, Station auxiliary systems such as AC/DC supplies, supervise fire and security systems, commissioning contractors to confirm functionality as per design intent. Investigate, identify and rectify construction/design issues. Liaise with UGL's key internal and external stakeholders. About You You will have experience with testing of protection relays of leading brands such as ABB, Schweitzer, Micom, GE, Siemens, and experience in proprietary software and diagnostic tools. You will have strong knowledge in commissioning of transmission, distribution and generation projects, protection philosophies and schemes, substation control and automation systems, and substation primary plants. You will have a fair knowledge of AS3000. You will have good exposure to test equipment used in testing and commissioning. You will have experience working in an integrated team to deliver testing and commissioning of projects. Experience with IEC61850 protocol is an advantage, but not necessary.
