About The RoleThe Heritage Principal will work closely with the Heritage Manager and is responsible for developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders including project partner representatives, contractors/subcontractors, heritage consultants and Traditional Owners.The Heritage Principal will also be required to advise and develop internal strategies relating to approvals and any changes to cultural heritage policy and legislation.Main Responsibilities Of The Role IncludeAdvise, develop and implement heritage approvals strategy(s).The development of approval applications required under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972.Development of heritage management documentation.Provide technical input into the various stages of Project Feasibility Reporting.Work with functional groups and project teams to forecast and schedule forward works program.Plan, facilitate and oversee archaeological and ethnographic surveys to support development projects and exploration activities.Review and oversee the finalisation of technical reports (including the validation of associated spatial data).Work collaboratively with Traditional Owners to ensure positive relationships are maintained.Manage investigations of any heritage incidents/issues.Work with the Heritage Manager to develop and implement heritage compliance processes for development projects and explorations activities.Review and provide technical assessment of Ground Disturbance Applications.To Be Successful In This Role, You Will HaveAt least 6 - 10 years' experience working in the Aboriginal cultural heritage field.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in Aboriginal cultural heritage management, and the planning and facilitation of heritage surveys.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in obtaining heritage approvals within Western Australia.Demonstrated leadership and management skills.Tertiary level education in anthropology, archaeology or related discipline.Current manual drivers' licence, Senior First Aid and 4WD certification.Demonstrated understanding of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA).Demonstrated project management experience including the ability to develop and manage multiple schedules.Working knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS Pro or similar software).A successful track record in liaising with stakeholders to ensure successful achievement of required outcomes.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Join A World-Class Project TeamAs part of Australia's most successful private company, HanRoy has a mandate to lead the study, design, and development of a globally significant pipeline of projects that will provide ongoing supply of critical minerals and energy essential for everyday life.Hancock Prospecting companies are already some of the largest contributors to the Australian economy, proving thousands of direct and indirect jobs, supporting essential services, and helping raise living standards in both regional and primary population centres.
