We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our team as a Transport Manager for the Southern Region Metro Aggregates division. Reporting to the Metro Quarry Transport Manager, the Transport Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of Heidelberg Materials Australia's aggregate logistics fleet. This multifaceted role involves working closely with various internal stakeholders to resource, manage, and develop a customer-focused logistics team. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and contributing to the achievement of our financial and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Planning : Design and maintain the strategic direction of fleet operations in alignment with Heidelberg Materials Australia's operational and financial goals.
Performance Analysis : Regularly analyze fleet performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
Fleet Maintenance : Monitor and manage fleet maintenance to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition and comply with all safety regulations.
Driver Management : Oversee the onboarding and management of LOD driver contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual and safety standards.
Risk Management : Control and report on risk management activities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols.
Budget Management : Manage the transport budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing transportation operations.
Stakeholder Relationships : Build and maintain effective relationships with supervisors, drivers, and contractors through regular communication, ensuring alignment toward achieving operational and customer service excellence.
Key Requirements :
Proven experience in a transport management role, ideally within the construction materials or aggregates industry.
Strong knowledge of transport logistics, fleet management, and health and safety regulations.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems under pressure, and drive results.
Passion for delivering outstanding customer service and achieving operational goals.
High level of resilience and adaptability to evolving situations.
Proven ability to build strong, positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
