The successful applicant will work on the vast array of Defence vehicle platforms including the new Rheinmetall transportation fleet as well as the armoured fighting vehicles like Abrams tanks, ASLAV reconnaissance vehicles and M113AS4 armoured personnel carriers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: You will be conducting maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classifications.
This may include: Fitting and operating special test equipment, and test-drive vehicles Repairing or replacing worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions, differentials, or steering gear; dismantling them and checking parts, referring to manuals as necessary Carrying out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs Diagnosing, repair and replace engine management and fuel injection components Testing and repairing electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition, and electronic fuel injection Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent Hold a current Australian State or Territory open driver's licence for Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) classes of vehicles highly desirable Possess the demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair and maintain earth moving equipment and/or military armoured vehicles highly desirable Demonstrated ability to inspect, repair and maintain light, medium, and heavy transportation vehicles Open and clear communication within a team environment You must be an Australian citizen Clear criminal record Diversity Our client is enriched by the diverse experiences, talents and cultures that their people bring to the organisation, while celebrating and respecting the communities.
