This role allows you to work individually and as part of a team.A global & leading manufacturer of Mining, Construction equipment, and Energy & Transportation has a Fitter/Mechanic/Engineer opportunity. You will be learning and collaborating in a team that designs and tests prototypes for underground mining, but also other global tasks. Based in Burnie - Tasmania you will also be configuring the software for the electronics. It is an expected 50/50 split between physical work and time spent using software. It is a casual role and you are expected to work 38 hours per week plus overtime when deadlines need to be met. Ideally the role is suited for a mechanical fitter with minimum 2 years experience post apprenticeship. Although, heavy equipment mechanics/technicians and mechanical engineers will be considered.Job Duties:Assemble and disassemble heavy and mobile earthwork machinery such as underground loaders and trucks.Install and use test equipmentOperate machines (training provided)Perform mechanical fitting and technician tasksAssist in building prototypesInstall and configure accessories (hardware, mechanical, and electronics)Configure software for electronicsEngage in safe work practicesDesired Skill and Experience:Mechanical experience (hands-on)Ability to assemble and disassemble mobile machinesProficiency in installing and using test equipmentCommitment to safe work practicesPhysical capability to climb over and under large machinesTrade qualification (e.g., fitter, mechanic) or practical experience2-5 years of real-world experience after completing an apprenticeshipFamiliarity with installing and configuring accessories (hardware, mechanical, electronics)Knowledge of software configuration for electronics (desirable)Computer literacyGood verbal and written communication skillsTeamwork and collaborative mindsetThe work is interesting, there is a strong WHS framework and the team is diverse and inclusive.The role requires that candidates have the right to work in Australia with no restrictions and that you reside in Burnie/relocate to Burnie.The selected candidate must agree to do a drug & alcohol test.#J-18808-Ljbffr
