They have an exciting opportunity for an Australian qualified Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join their team based in Loganlea.
This position is responsible for undertaking repairs and servicing as required and is to liaise with Leading Hand, Supervisor and the Fleet Maintenance Manager on matters required for the effective operation of our clients workshop and operations.
Workshop & Maintenance Responsibilities: Physically fit to carry out the following duties as required for the position Assist and mentor junior members of staff including apprentices and trainees on day to day workshop operations Liaise with internal and external contractors as required Undertake servicing and repairs of vehicles, plant and equipment Undertake machinery inspections and associated works Ensure vehicles are ready for monthly machinery inspections Ability to read/interpret workshop manuals (electronic and written) Diagnose mechanical faults / issues Ensure work is completed correctly and within specified timeframes Action all driver daily defect vehicle reports Onsite checks and breakdowns - required to work rotating on-call roster Operate heavy vehicles and machinery as required Capable of climbing work platform stairs Carry out duties related to mechanical workshop Test drive vehicles following repairs as required Record keeping Qualifications and experience: Relevant Trade Certificate Hold a current manual "C" class driver's licence Forklift certificate desirable First Aid Certificate desirable MR or HR licence desirable Knowledge and skills: Thorough knowledge of workshop operations Sound knowledge of servicing and maintenance of buses and light vehicles Ability to diagnose issues with vehicles Demonstrated time management and organisational skills Developed team development and leadership and mentoring skills Basic computer skills Good interpersonal skills Proven verbal and written communication skills In return, you'll be rewarded with a friendly and positive working environment with great team culture!
