You will be required to Build, maintain and develop prototype equipment at the MILVECO site at Redbank.
About the Role The Heavy Diesel Mechanic is primarily responsible for Building/maintaining & repairing the RDA test vehicle fleet at MILVECOE and supporting conduct of DT&E and V&V testing for all RDA programs.
The role requires occasional travel to various customer and Rheinmetall sites within Australia and Overseas.
The general and generic duties of the Heavy Diesel Mechanic include, but not limited to:
Conduct, assist and / or supervise fault diagnostics and repairs on test vehicle fleet;Support engineering in Design, manufacture and development of Prototypes;Undertake technical investigations associated with field and or engineering faults;Interpret technical electrical drawings to diagnose & repair faults with components; andFulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with Area Manager from time to time. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
Proven experience maintaining a fleet of (light, medium and heavy) trucks and plant, servicing and repairing diesel engine and heavy trucks/equipment and all sub-system components;Ability to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents;Willingness to travel interstate and internationally for extended periods;Great interpersonal and communication skills;Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision; andMust hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
