They are renowned for their product range and breadth and have built a strong brand reputation for over 70 years through their technical competency gained in designing and manufacturing heavy equipment. Due to ongoing growth in the business, they are looking for a self-motivated and technically skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Field Service Technician to join their Cairns branch.
The Position...
In the position of Field Service Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of earthmoving, construction and material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all machines and will be able to confidently problem-solve complex and critical failure situations. The role will be both field and workshop based, with workshop responsibilities including new machine sales, machinery maintenance and more complex mechanical breakdowns.
The role requires directly dealing with clients, therefore you must demonstrate a high level of quality customer service.
Key responsibilities include: Detection and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components.
Perform dismantling, repairing, and reassembling of mechanical components using service manuals.
Conducting scheduled maintenance services.
The Ideal Candidate… The ideal candidate will have the following: Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment or the Automotive Industry (mandatory) Valid Australian driver's license (mandatory) Automotive Air Conditioning license (desirable) Auto Electrical experience and diagnostic skills (desirable) MR, Forklift, EWP, plant, and LPG licenses (desirable) Experience in a similar role Proficiency in hydraulics and electrical circuits (desirable) The company is particularly looking for an individual that has had experience in maintaining and repairing earthmoving, construction, or material handling equipment or has Automotive industry experience.
