The role Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will be responsible for monitoring the hearing schedules, identifying additional hearings required, and arranging these in consultation. You will respond to enquiries from patients, carers, advocates, legal practitioners, and mental health service providers about legislative and administrative requirements for hearings.You will have demonstrated:Demonstrated knowledge, or the ability to acquire knowledge, of the Mental Health Act 2016 and the Forensic Disability Act 2011, particularly the provisions and requirements relating to the operation and functions of the Mental Health Review Tribunal.Demonstrated initiative and personal management skills, including the ability to balance competing demands and prioritise workloads to meet organisational and legislative requirements.Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate, and problem solve with a broad range of stakeholders and the ability to develop operational guidelines and procedures.Demonstrated ability and experience in working both autonomously and as a team member to enhance organisational effectiveness and to meet strategic goals within a changing environment.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland. The primary purpose of the Tribunal is to review the involuntary status of persons with mental illnesses and/or intellectual disability, including the review of treatment authorities, forensic orders, treatment support orders, a person's fitness for trial, and the detention of a minor in a high-security unit. The Tribunal also hears applications for examination authorities, applications to perform regulated treatments, and approvals for patients to transfer into and out of Queensland.
