The Clinical Nurse Consultant will be responsible for: Practice in accordance with the NSQHS standards and Hospital policy and procedure. Clinical leadership through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care. Ensure both clinical practice and professional standards are identified and maintained in the delivery of safe patient care. Providing clinical expertise and depth to the Critical Care / ICU nursing team by sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant guidelines and standards. The promotion of contemporary nursing practice and is actively involved in research, education, and continuous quality improvement. Working collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health team members to create team cohesion and a positive practice environment that achieves best practice outcomes for patients and the neurosurgical service. The Clinical Nurse Consultant will fulfil their role within the department with the support of the Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of 4 years' post-registration experience in ICU and/or Critical care nursing. Post Graduate Qualifications in Critical Care Nursing. Cert IV in Training and Assessment. Accredited Adult Advanced Life Support Instructor. Demonstrated high-level clinical experience in the provision of nursing care working in collaboration with patients and their families. Demonstrated experience and ability to commence, lead, and evaluate evidence-based clinical practice development and Quality Improvement activities. Ability to act as a patient advocate. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and advanced computer literacy and information technology skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop/maintain professional relationships and networks across multiple disciplines. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team with a demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence. Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations. Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to teach and preceptor staff. Experience as an ICU team leader. Demonstrated IT skills. Postgraduate qualification in education or working towards the same. About us

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $63.71 - $65.02 per hour.
