We now have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our People Safety and Culture team in Brisbane on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the National Health and Safety Lead, you will support the safe execution of APA operational and project activity in accordance with APA systems and processes, the improvement in Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) performance through approved HSW improvement programs and initiatives. The role will primarily support the APA Engineering & Planning (E&P) division to ensure safe and compliant outcomes and operation.Key Responsibilities:Supporting the ongoing development of divisional H&S capability in the safe execution of work activities and the local execution of health and safety programs and initiatives.Support and coach divisional leaders to execute injury management activities including arrangement of medical treatment, injured worker liaison and monitoring, workers compensation claims lodgement, and development of return to work plans.Facilitation and coordination of the local execution of occupational hygiene exposure assessments and monitoring – communicate outcomes to line leaders, initiate investigations as required and support the identification of corrective actions.Support compliance with health / medical surveillance requirements.Support line leaders to interpret H&S data and identify trends and improvement opportunities.Support and contribute to the national HSEH team.Your background:Tertiary qualification and/or relevant work experience in related discipline.Proven experience executing and supporting health, safety and wellbeing processes and initiatives for mid-large size organisations.Proven experience in supporting large, complex, geographically diversified and continuously operating organisations.Proven experience in supporting and coaching line leaders in improving health and safety performance.Experience with process safety, audit / assurance, and working within Engineering, Mining, and/or Oil and Gas sector are preferable.Additional qualifications in lead investigation (e.g. ICAM), lead auditor (e.g. ISO) are preferable.Working at APAAt APA we're committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
