About the role Viterra is seeking a motivated Health & Safety Advisor to provide leadership and support to our Central Region (Yorke Peninsula/Northern Area) country storage and port terminal facilities. The primary responsibility of the role is to assist the business in the implementation and ongoing compliance with Health and Safety policies and standards, work with local management and employees to increase safety awareness, and to participate in scheduled and ad hoc safety activities including audits, investigations, training, and projects.
Duties Contribute and influence an environment where health and safety are an integral part of how we do business Provide advice on the management and control of safety hazards and risks in line with safety policies and standards Work to achieve a zero-harm work environment Coach and assist leaders and employees in relation to hazard identifying, control of risk and compliance with the health and safety management system Identify, recognise, and communicate positive safety contributions observed, and coach where opportunities to improve exist Lead health and safety incident investigations and provide support to the business, identify corrective actions, and provide input into solutions to prevent further issues Undertake audits and inspections in line with the health and safety management system Provide health and safety related training, coaching, and guidance Regularly attend operational meetings and other meetings to provide input on health and safety Undertake project work as allocated across the region and more broadly Participate in various safety initiatives as required by the health and safety management team, including those required to achieve targets set in the annual Health and Safety improvement plan About You Formal safety qualifications (minimum Certificate IV WHS) At least 5 years' experience in a safety role (within a self-insured environment desirable) Internal audit and training qualifications are desirable Sound computer skills are desirable Is effective at multi-tasking, though proactive initiation of tasks/projects and consistently manages them through to completion Knowledge of SA WHS Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
