We offer services to monitor and maintain low blood lead levels.The Port Pirie Environmental Health Centre (EHC) is a free community service of the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network that helps protect children from the harmful effects of lead in their environment.
The environment has a history of lead contamination resulting from more than 100 years of smelting in Port Pirie.There is no 'safe' level of lead exposure and exposure should be reduced or prevented to keep blood lead levels as low as possible.
Children and pregnant women are at most risk from lead.About the RoleWe have a great opportunity for Health Information Officers (ASO2) to join our 2024/2025 casual pool, joining our dedicated team to help the community understand the issues about lead.As the Health Information Officer, you are responsible for: providing a customer focussed comprehensive confidential support service to Environmental Health Centre clients;providing efficient frontline reception service to clients and staff, contributing to the effective and efficient management of Environmental Health Centre services;providing a high level of communication with internal and external customers and a broad range of service providers within the Port Pirie region;the accuracy and integrity of all client related data entered onto the Environmental Health Centre's database; andproviding administration support and relief to other positions within the Environmental Health Centre.
