This position's advanced level of practice is based on the NMBA Competency Standards for Registered Nurses (RN). The Nurse Manager position requires a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, communication, organisational skills, and ability to make health care decisions within a primary health care environment. The role also serves as a resource capacity to the Brisbane Grammar School student and staff community. In addition to providing primary nursing care with its associated administrative duties, the Nurse Manager role requires the co-ordination, administration and management of the Health Centre overseeing the activities of other registered nurses within the health service.Service ProfileThe Health Centre operates each day to provide a professional health service to all students (including boarders), staff and visitors attending Brisbane Grammar School.The role of the Registered Nurses in the Health Centre is to:• Facilitate positive student responses to normal human development;• Promote health and safety in the School environment;• Provide case management services;• Implement individual health care plans and emergency plans;• Work closely with other members of the Student Wellbeing Team; and• Act as a liaison between School personnel, family, health care professionals and the community.
