The Health Care Social Worker is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team providing collaborative, holistic care on the primary to quaternary care continuum. Social Workers focus on relationships between people and their environments, integral to psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. They engage in a dynamic process of engagement, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, building upon the strengths of patients/clients.

Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized universityCurrent registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social WorkersTwo (2) years post BSW related clinical experience requiredKnowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental DisordersPrevious experience working in adult community mental health preferredDemonstrated ability to use a client-/family-centered approachFamiliarity with evidence-based treatment approaches for severe and persistent mental illnessDemonstrated experience with group facilitationAbility to complete biopsychosocial assessmentsAwareness of local community resources and agenciesEffective time management and disciplined self-organizationComfort and skills working collaboratively with community partnersCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredHoursPermanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weeklyShifts will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.Travel to other sites may be required.Compensation and Benefits$35.86 - $45.28 Hourly
