ABOUT THE ROLE The Health and Safety Superintendent is responsible for the development and implementation of health, safety, and training systems and services specific to the site.
This role includes the establishment of policies and procedures, as well as providing guidance on their effective application.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Prepare periodical safety reports in a timely and accurate manner.Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the safety and training team, ensuring compliance to legislation and that indicators are developed, and strategies implemented to manage and monitor safety and training performance.Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders in relation to legal obligations, policies, systems and procedures.Ensure that employees, management, contractor and visitors are aware of their obligations, policies and procedures relating to safety and training.Ensure that all relevant reports, documentation and plans are developed, approved and submitted to meet the obligations under the relevant legislation and government policies.Ensure workplace incidents and injuries are fully investigated and provide recommendations.Develop, maintain, implement and review safety and training policies, procedures and risk management plans as per the department's schedule and operational department's need.Conduct performance plan and review process with direct reports.WHAT YOU WILL NEED Recognised qualification in safety related discipline with post graduate qualifications (desirable).Minimum of Applied First Aid qualification (Cert II Pre-hospital Care or other specialist emergency qualifications desirable).Recognised qualification in Auditing (Desirable).Cert IV in Surface Ventilation Technician Course (Desirable).Associate Membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene (Desirable).BENEFITS Receive $12k residential allowance per annum.Receive up to 15% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.Fully covered family private health insurance through GU Health Complete Gold Cover or an allowance of $4.8k.Receive $2.4k allowance to put towards your choice of Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance.Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.Opportunities for learning and development through various training programs provided by the company.Your application will include the following questions:
