Realise your potential and make an impact with us.The role: As the Head of WSE, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the WSE culture across our operations in Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to our Chief People Officer, you will lead a team of safety professionals. You and your team will partner with senior leaders to mentor, guide, and ensure compliance with our WSE standards and work, health and safety legislation in Australia and New Zealand for our white and blue collar employees. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can lead with influence, champion WSE initiatives, and foster a culture of safety and wellbeing across our business.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all WSE systems of work and frameworks in Australia and New Zealand.Lead a team of safety professionals located in Sydney and Melbourne.Lead the ongoing management of WSE ISO assurance activities.Be the highest point of escalation for site and incident investigations and safety audits.Develop and implement a multi-year wellbeing and safety strategy for home, office and operational safety sensitive environments, ensuring legislative compliance and mitigation of risks.Collaborate with senior business leaders to drive a positive WSE culture where high safety standards are practiced and maintained, and a culture of reporting allowing for continuous improvement.Stay abreast of WSE legislation, ensuring that our operations meet all regulatory requirements across Australia and New Zealand.In partnership with Risk, ensure effective emergency response management systems are in place and are aligned with business continuity plans.Oversee corporate facilities function.Working closely with the WSE team and site management, lead initiatives to analyse trends, and identify, assess, & mitigate WSE risks, ensuring effective controls are in place.Oversee return-to-work programs, providing leadership and strategic advice on case management to minimize lost time injuries.Generate and present insightful WSE performance reports to Executives and the Board.Manage and participate in internal or external WSE audits as required.Minimum Requirements:Tertiary qualification in an HSE-related discipline preferred.Experience managing a workforce across both blue and white collar professions covering transportation.Proven experience leading an WSE function with the ability to drive a positive WSE culture.Expert working knowledge of contemporary WSE legislation, including psychosocial safety, relevant codes of practice and requirements and applicable Australian standards.Demonstrated ability to interpret and practically apply expert knowledge to develop effective policies and procedures.Expert working knowledge of workers compensation claim procedures and management.Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence positive WSE outcomes.Expert knowledge of risk management systems, processes, and practices, including incident investigation techniques.Proven ability to translate complex WSE requirements into effective operational outcomes.Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience presenting to Executives and Board.Our Benefits:You flex – We are all different and we recognise that.
