Position Overview: Perenti Contract Mining is seeking a Legal Operations Assistant to join our global team.
The Legal Operations Assistant will be responsible for maintaining and assisting with operational and administrative processes within the Legal and Commercial Team, by creating and managing processes, identifying, and leading initiatives to improve efficiency and implementing and managing the legal team's technology systems.
This role will be an offered on a Permanent Part Time basis working 3 days a week with flexible working arrangements to help you balance your work and personal commitments.
Reporting to the Vice President of Legal and Commercial, the role will provide comprehensive legal support to our team, ensuring smooth operation in our fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Act as a personal Assistant to the VP Commercial & Legal Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operational requirements of the legal department including managing the Legal and Commercial's contract database and workflow management software.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Legal and Commercial team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining legal databases, and filing documents.
This includes assisting to coordinate legal projects and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Paralegal Work : assist legal and commercial teams including using Legal AI programs and Legal Databases to process initial document reviews through AI programs and collate legal research.
Help establish policies and procedures relating to areas of responsibility of legal and commercial team and monitor review requirements.
Process Improvement: Identify, develop and implement  processes to improve legal team operations.
Reporting: Assist the Vice President for Legal and Commercial with monthly, quarterly and ongoing reporting requirements including updating and finalising reports, drafting and finalising presentations and tracking the status of legal operations.
Invoice Support: Manage and track all legal invoices including the raising and processing of Purchase Orders relating to legal invoices and other expenditure incurred by the Legal and Commercial Team.
Technology Management: Oversee the use of legal technology tools and systems and ensure the team is trained in these tools.
This includes the RFP process for the implementation of legal technology and presenting back to the Vice President of Legal and Commercial Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external legal vendors, negotiate contracts and manage costs Qualifications and Skills: Prior experience in a Paralegal/Legal Assistant/Legal EA role Experience in commercial practice area.
Project management and process improvement skills.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge using the full suite of Microsoft365 Strong knowledge of or interest in learning legal department processes and technology solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A high understanding of technology and computers  Experience with SAP, DocuSign and Dazychain highly regarded however not essential.
