Be part of the Executive TeamCentral Coast LocationLeading organisation for First Nations artistic & cultural educational servicesThe Opportunity:NAISDA is recognised as the leading provider of artistic and cultural educational services specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people; producing the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist and performers since 1976.Due to growth, a new role has been created, Head of Teaching and Learning, reporting to the CEO. This role will lead the teaching and learning team and drive the strategic vision of NAISDA's educational offering ensuring a high quality creative, cultural curriculum and inclusive training for its students.Key duties & responsibilities:Leading the Teaching and Learning teamDevelopment and implementation of a 4 -5 year teaching and learning strategy in alignment to NAISDA's vision and cultural valuesWorking with the Executive Team on the strategic direction of the organization, as it heads towards growth and expansionLead and work closely with the Wiliguwa (NAISDA Board of Studies) on curriculum developmentEmbedding Indigenous Knowings into the curriculumLeading the development and implementation of NAISDA's proposed and existing curriculumManaging the teaching and learning budgetProviding expert advice to the CEO and stakeholders on emerging creative, cultural and curriculum developmentLeading cultural growth at NAISDAWorking closely with the Compliance Manager to maintain high standards and regulatory requirementsPrevious skills & experience:Demonstrated understanding of the contemporary issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the impact these issues have on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, societies and culture in todays environment.Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopleDegree qualification in Education, Teaching and Learning or other relevant qualificationsExtensive experience in post graduate education with a strong understanding of curriculum, education frameworks, compliance and ASQA and the VET SectorStrong understanding of education management and student developmentExcellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders, commitment to teamwork, collaboration and development of team and organisationAbility to manage a team with deadlines alongside personal deadlinesCurrent NSW Drivers licenceExperience in and/or passion for, the Performing Arts is highly desirableMandatory for this role:National Police CheckNSW Working with Children CheckAbility to act as a Fit and Proper Person in line with ASQA requirementsThis employment opportunity is identified as a Genuine Occupational Requirement for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander personIf you are interested in this role, please apply directly through the ad.
