And we've been doing it for over 170 years.If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.The Head of Tax Superannuation Investments and Platforms will lead a team of tax professionals to manage all tax compliance and reporting obligations for AMP's superannuation and investment funds, including Investor Directed Portfolio Services (IDPS) and IDPS-like schemes.The role will offer proactive tax support and expert advice to business stakeholders, ensuring effective tax planning and risk management. Your leadership will position the Tax team as a trusted and influential business partner.How will you make an impactPrepare and submit all local and foreign tax returns (income tax, AIIR, etc.).Liaise with tax advisors, agents, and authorities to ensure compliance, address complex tax matters, and engage with key stakeholders (e.g., regulators, boards, business).Maintain and enhance tax procedures, processes, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory changes and enterprise risk obligations.Provide tax input and expert advice on projects, initiatives, and strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs, tax risks, policies, and regulations.Manage and support regulatory reviews and engage with regulators.Oversee the implementation of regulatory change.Lead and engage a team of tax professionals, fostering continuous improvement mindset, transparent communication, and high performance, while effectively managing resource allocation between routine tasks and projects.What you will bring to the roleRelevant tertiary qualifications.Extensive in-depth working knowledge of the Australian tax system, with a specific focus on the taxation of superannuation and investment funds.Technically proficient and up to date with taxation law developments.Project management and organisation skills, to manage competing priorities and to deliver on deadlines.As a leader, you excel in managing and motivating teams. You foster an environment of continuous improvement, transparent communication, and high performance, ensuring your team consistently meets and exceeds expectations.Effective stakeholder management, characterised by regular, proactive, and transparent communication, is essential.Leveraging your extensive experience, you provide expert tax advice and support on superannuation and investment fund strategies, projects, and initiatives, consistently delivering value. You proficiently manage the annual lifecycle of tax events, ensuring compliance and reporting obligations for superannuation and investment funds are met with accuracy and timeliness.Your meticulous approach guarantees that all tax-related matters are handled efficiently. Your experience in process improvements showcases your ability to enhance the control environment and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of tax processes.
