Head of Student Learning and Support
Belmont Christian College is a leading co-educational P-12 school in the Newcastle region with over 900 students and 150 staff members.

We are seeking a leader to run our Student Learning and Support Department.
This role oversees student learning and support, psychology, and counselling services to provide a holistic approach at the College.
As a valued member of the Learning Leadership team, this highly valued role makes a difference in student lives by offering comprehensive and consistent support and extension in a Christian learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the student learning and support team, providing clear direction, recruiting high-calibre staff, and ensuring staff development.
Work closely with stakeholders, fostering collaboration to create a positive and effective team environment.
Oversee and apply expertise in specialised support service for students, ensuring best practices and consistent implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) across the College.
Coordinate and manage resources and staff to deliver effective support and extension programs for students, ensuring timely service delivery.
Ensure compliance with NCCD requirements, data collection, and audits while overseeing adjustments and provisions for students' needs.
Manage financial projections and budgets while contributing to government submissions and reports.
Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance the Student Learning and Support department's operations.
Selection Criteria:
It is an inherent requirement of the role that the incumbent have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, actively attend their local Church, and willingly support the vision of the College.
Knowledge of and a deep commitment to child safety in an education setting.
Current Working with Children Check.
NESA teacher registration and post-graduate qualifications in special education.
Substantial experience in leading a team in specialised support service for students.
Demonstrated experience in building processes and systems that support funding and compliance requirements.
Extensive knowledge of NCCD regulations.
