We are seeking applications for a full-time permanent Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to join our school community. The position will be based at the Primary Campus of Yarrabah State School but will work across the 3 campuses of Kindy, Primary and Junior Secondary.
Applicants who are from State Schools must have the permission of their supervising principal before applying as release from the school will require their principal's authorisation. Relocation expenses will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About Yarrabah State SchoolYarrabah State School caters for an indigenous student population enrolled from Kindy to year 10 across three separate campuses within the community of Yarrabah in Far North Queensland. A Special Education Unit supporting students across all campuses is located at the Primary campus with a specialist facility provided at the Secondary campus.

Students enrolled at the school live in the community proper or in the outlying areas including Reeves Creek, Mourigan, Oombunji Creek and Back Beach. Most students walk to school or ride a bike. Students in the outlying areas catch the school bus operated by the Yarrabah Council. Students at Yarrabah are currently all Indigenous.
About The RoleYou will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and Early Childhood Development Program. Lead and manage the Special Education Program and Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed. Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability. Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
