Head of Special Education Services - Freshwater State School - Special Education Program Education (Organisation site ) Far North Queensland Region, Early Childhood and State Schools Division The role of Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) will be based at Freshwater State School and will develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability at both Freshwater State School and Aurukun State School.Thesuccessful applicant requires a high level of organisational skills and management of student data for both Aurukun State School and Freshwater State School.This is offered on a full-time temporary basis, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined. The successful applicant will need to be willing and able to travel to Aurukun a minimum of twice/Term (5 days/trip). Travel and accommodation to undertake work in Aurukun will be organised and funded by the school.Freshwater State School is a Prep to Year 6 school with approximately 644 students located in the northern suburbs of Cairns. Freshwater State School provides a safe and caring environment for high quality learning to occur. The school staff and community are committed to encouraging every child to reach their full potential.Aurukun State School is a Kindy to Year 12 with approximately 219 students and is located in Aurukun. Aurukun is a very remote Indigenous community located 11 hours by road from Cairns, on the North West coast of the Cape York Peninsula. Home to around 1300 people, this community is the traditional homeland of the Wik, Wik Waya and Kugu people.
