Management - Schools (Education & Training) The College Headmaster is inviting applications from highly experienced Christian Educational Leaders for the position of Head of Secondary Years 7-12.
The role is a Senior Executive position at a Leadership 4 level.
The role will commence at the start of 2025.
The successful applicant will be accredited with the New South Wales Educational Standards Authority (NESA).
The successful candidate will lead a team of highly competent, experienced and enthusiastic staff.
This is a Senior Executive Position at the College, and the successful applicant would be accountable to the College Headmaster.
The successful applicant would be a Highly Experienced Christian Educational Leader with teaching experience and qualifications suitable for such a leadership role.
Wollondilly is a co-educational Christian College operated by the Anglican Schools Corporation.
It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational College located in pleasant rural surroundings at Tahmoor, about 60 minutes from Sydney's CBD.
The College strives for educational excellence in a Christian context and includes modern, permanent, air-conditioned buildings.

Areas of responsibility:
The Head of Secondary Years is responsible for the oversight of the day to day running of the Secondary College, ensuring that effective and efficient systems are in place to support teaching, learning, operations, pastoral care and events.
The Head of Secondary Years will foster an orderly, disciplined learning environment in which students are engaged and striving for academic and personal excellence.
The Head of Secondary Years may also deputise for the Deputy Headmaster from time to time.
The Head of Secondary Years will work closely with the Head of Primary Years to ensure consistency and continuity in Learning, Care and Culture.
Lead academic planning and curriculum implementation for the Secondary Years Ensure NESA accreditation requirements for programming and assessment are consistently maintained by Senior School teachers Lead the strategic direction of teaching and learning in Secondary Years with a strong focus on academic rigour and excellence Lead the development of a curriculum that assists students to grow in their understanding of God's Word and world Promote the development of high-quality teaching programs that are embedded with genuine contextual differentiation teaching and learning strategies within an Explicit Instruction Framework Contribute to Professional Learning aligned with the College's strategic objectives Oversee the implementation of NAPLAN; analyse the data and make recommendations to improve literacy and numeracy across the Secondary Years Ensure that data relating to students, curriculum and quality processes is accurate and robust and is used by teachers to inform teaching and learning Work closely with Learning Support Staff to ensure students with additional needs are supported Respond strategically and proactively to the changing education sector, lead collaboratively and model a positive approach to change Oversee and work closely with the Director of Learning and Teaching Secondary
Leadership – Care and Culture
Oversee Student Well-being and Pastoral care needs of the students in the Secondary Years Lead the development of Learning Dispositions in the Secondary Years Refine pastoral care and well-being models and work with teaching staff to embed effective pastoral and well-being routines into the classroom Ensure a positive culture of well-being for staff and students Monitor Secondary Years uniform standards and playground conduct Manage High-level student issues, in consultation with the Deputy Headmaster including suspensions and exclusions, in a manner that aligns with the College Student Discipline and Behaviour Management Policy Work collaboratively with teachers, Learning Support and other key stakeholders to ensure that learning, risk and safety management plans are developed for identified students Oversee a program for student well-being and service for the Secondary Years Lead the strategic direction and focus of the Secondary Years Camp program with the Coordinator of Outdoor Ministry Opportunities Oversee and work closely with the Director of Care and Culture Develop a strong sense of belonging within the Student body through Student Representative Council and House initiatives
Leadership – Staff
Foster a collaborative culture across the staff team, ensuring there is understanding, engagement and buy-in from all staff Ensure a positive culture of well-being for staff Model a dependence on God and a willingness to lead devotions and pray with and for staff Monitor staff well-being and bring concerns to the attention of the Deputy Head Lead Secondary Years meetings and professional development where required Provide support for Secondary Years teachers' academic professional learning by researching, monitoring and advising appropriate development areas and opportunities that are available Work with the Executive Team to determine the Professional Learning program for staff Advise on staffing allocations and Timetables Oversee the onboarding of new staff members in the Secondary Years
Co-Curricular Program and College Events
Lead Secondary Years Assemblies Support the development of co-curricular opportunities for Secondary Years students Oversee student and staff involvement in the co-curricular program Maintain communication with parents regarding co-curricular offerings and College events Work with the Deputy Headmaster in the scheduling of Secondary Years events Coordinate Parent/Teacher Interviews and reporting Attend and have a strong Leadership presence at Secondary Years and whole College events including those occurring outside of College hours As a member of the Senior Executive, develop an area of passion and interest in consultation with the Headmaster that will contribute to the strategic direction of the College
Other duties as required by the Headmaster.
