Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, and a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes.

The Wesley College at Clunes residential program provides our Year 9 students with the opportunity to learn about themselves, the wider community and our Australian culture in the unique setting of the small Victorian town of Clunes, 35 kilometres northwest of Ballarat. The focus for the 8-week program is upon education of the whole person, with an emphasis on experiential, social and emotional learning, independent inquiry, community engagement and shared living.

Applications are invited from outstanding applicants for the leadership position of Head of Programs and Staffing at Wesley Clunes. This position is somewhat unique as there are two people sharing the role. This is a full-time appointment with 0.3 FTE in the leadership role and 0.7 FTE teaching. This is a residential position whereby the appointee must live on-site. Accommodation is provided.

In making this appointment, the College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities can demonstrate the following:

The provision of leadership for staff and students to foster an open, productive and collaborative environment, in alignment with the strategic direction of the College. Coordination of staff leave, timetabling and rosters and to organise casual relief staff as appropriate. Curriculum development and delivery within a MYP framework. A personal presence and highly effective communication skills in relationships with students, staff, parents and our local community. A capacity to enjoy the rich diversity of daily life at the school and to contribute to the overall success of the program. An understanding and commitment to a residential learning environment and a willingness to participate in student activities outside normal hours. The management of the Professional Development Program for staff, management of onsite staff inductions and ensuring compliance requirements are met. Coordination of the daily operations of the Wesley at Clunes site.
