The Role As the Head of Product Engineering at Telstra Health, your leadership is essential in advancing the company's vision of delivering connected and improved digital health experiences. You will be working with cross-functional teams that deliver product outcomes for our customers. By driving the development and delivery of high-quality engineering solutions for the organisation's products, you play a critical role in ensuring that Telstra Health's products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, setting clear goals, and promoting continuous improvement and effective communication.Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for cost saving and ensure alignment with strategic objectives and financial policies.Provide strategic direction and leadership in product engineering, aligning engineering initiatives with product strategy and business objectives to drive innovation and competitiveness.Manage relationships with technology vendors, partners, and service providers, evaluating their performance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with business objectives, service level agreements (SLAs) and other agreed metrics.Lead the development and delivery of technology solutions for Telstra Health's products, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality standards, and project timelines.Oversee and advise on the design, build and maintenance of multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra Health processes and systems.Collaborate with Chapter Area leaders and stakeholders to lead the software engineering strategy; defining software development standards and designing, collaborating and implementing innovative end-to-end architectural solutions across multiple domains.Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into engineering solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and practices within the product engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement to deliver value iteratively and incrementally.Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies that may impact product delivery, proactively addressing challenges and obstacles to ensure project success.Manage and develop a high-performing team of multi-sourced product engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth, and providing mentorship and support to team members.The candidate must meet the requirements to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency Baseline Security Clearance. Australian citizenship is essential for this application. About you Experience in managing a large group of product-aligned engineering teams.Experience in managing offshore vendors and their performance.Experience in working within a matrix organisation structure.Experience in managing people leaders and working through others.Experience in functionally leading teams of 100 plus members.Broad experience in technology engineering, best practices and delivery of SAAS based software.Minimum of undergraduate qualifications in the field of computing.Why work for Telstra Health?
