About the RoleAs Head of Ops for Regulatory Oversight and Governance, you'll play a key role in helping to ensure regulatory obligations are met, customer complaints and errors are resolved in a timely manner and ensure appropriate performance management reporting (including detailed reporting and identification of "hot spots") is delivered on a consistent basis.
This role is within the leadership team of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) AU & PNG, Institutional.

What will your day look like?Your key responsibilities will include:
Works hand in glove with the entire COO Aus, International and Group Capability Centre colleagues to understand risks/issues, past, present and emerging, and lay down measurable strategies to de-risk the business to the extent possible.Works closely with the leadership team to drive the cultural change and embedding of the NFR Framework and associated policy requirements on behalf of the business and its ultimate Line 1 Risk Owner (the Group Executive).End to end (hands on) ownership of regulatory reporting and regulatory communications relevant to tasks undertaken for Institutional AU & PNG customers (including tasks undertaken by teams based in AU, PNG, MNL and BLR).Champion identification and understanding future and emerging risks, including working with the leadership team to monitor external and internal business environment to identify and understand future and emerging strategic risks.Detailed monitoring of customer outcomes (quality and timeliness of delivery) including oversight and resolution of customer complaints.Ensuring financial management of the business is delivered effectively including planning/forecasting/budgeting/STPs and projects are delivered within budget with benefits realised.Preparation of high quality papers for senior leaders and COO LT and other reporting including management reports.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Extensive relevant experience in the banking and financial services sector.Experience navigating varied cultural contexts while leading, planning and executing change.Knowledge of ANZ's Non-Financial risk framework and regulatory requirements.Proven understanding and hands on experience identifying performance uplift opportunities and influencing others to make the required improvements.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively – this is a hands on role.Strong influencing and negotiation skills backed up by excellent communication ability, written and verbal (including packs).You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
