This role is responsible for shaping the marketing and creative direction of Country Road, developing a strategic roadmap informed by both internal and external insights and data. Working closely with the Digital, Design, Visual Merchandising (VM), Merchandise, and Retail teams, the role ensures consistent brand messaging and customer relevance. Key areas of oversight include creative direction, styling, graphics, and marketing specialists, along with individual roles that support these functions, such as the Marketing Operations Lead.
Key Accountabilities Marketing Direction: Develop and implement a clear brand strategy for Country Road which will resonate with the customer, whilst maintaining its heritage, leadership in sustainability and support of the local community, and which aligns with corporate goals.Actively engage with the design teams to ascertain key items, styling, and brand stories to ensure a cohesive brand and customer experience.Responsible for the marketing calendar and working with the Digital Team to develop overall monthly insights, seasonal briefs, quarterly plans and presentations for channels.Brand Impact & Community: Work with the Sustainability team to develop and manage sustainability plans including relevant community partnerships.Work with the Sustainability team to develop the strategic vision for Our World pillar and developing a unique brand point of view that will differentiate CR in the market / complement wider brand vision.Work with key internal stakeholders across product and creative departments to ensure the values of Our World are woven into brand storytelling / campaigns in a substantiated and engaging way.Work with the GBJ team to support brand adoption and integration of Group Sustainability commitments, including the upcoming 2025 strategy launch.Creative Development & Production: Oversee development and execution of creative concepts across all seasonal marketing and rolled out to support business commercial and brand goals, raising brand awareness, driving customer engagement and delivering commercial objectives through all touch points.Oversee the conceptualization and implementation of design and creative output for Digital, Out of home, Editorials, Edms, social etc and visual storytelling across the business.Communication - Own, Paid & Earned Channels: Oversee all Country Road collaborations and partnerships.Oversee the social media content plans (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest mainly).Communications on risk management and crisis comms for external channels i.e. media.Interface and sign off on marketing activations, to ensure the brand message conveyed.People & Leadership: Provide line management and leadership to the team, overseeing performance, development, and resource allocation to achieve departmental goals.Collaborate across the group, building team cohesion and connection, to inspire and bring our House of Brands strategy to life.Embrace uncertainty and change while facilitating and enabling strategic change with clarity, empathy and optimism.Demonstrate relentless focus and commitment to delivering our strategic blueprint together, always acting in the best interest of the group.Create & foster an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive and feel included, respected and safe. Build internal talent bench.Key Capabilities Tertiary qualifications in a Marketing discipline or other relevant discipline.8-10 years experience in a similar Leadership position.Proven experience in designing, implementing and reviewing brand strategies and campaigns that have delivered the desired outcomes within defined budgets.Extensive experience in Branding, PR, Advertising, Communications.Depth of understanding of the national and international retailing landscapes.Strong ability to assess complex situations, identify key issues, and develop innovative solutions.Significant experience in budgeting, administration and reporting.Why work for CRG?
