This pivotal role will collaborate closely with a diverse professional team within Freyssinet and provide strategic legal guidance across Australia and New Zealand. You will also liaise with our parent company, VINCI Construction, based in France.Role Overview:The Head of Legal oversees legal and contractual affairs for Freyssinet in both Australia and New Zealand, leading the Legal and Contracts team, managing the company's insurance portfolio, and providing strategic advice on risk, claims, and disputes. This role will directly manage two Contracts Managers and work closely with project representatives, engineers, and senior management to provide actionable legal solutions.Key Responsibilities:Commercial Support: Collaborate with Business Unit Managers and Operations Managers on claims frameworks, risk assessments, negotiation support, and dispute management. This includes advising on front-end contracts for tenders and back-end contract execution.Insurance Portfolio Management: Oversee the company's insurance portfolio, including renewals, claims management, and liaising with brokers and the insurance team in Paris.Tender Review & Risk Assessment: Conduct tender reviews for projects over $2.5M, ensuring MD approval and compliance with Freyssinet's Contractual Policy.Dispute Management: Actively manage contract disputes, negotiate resolutions, and, if needed, engage external lawyers for complex cases.Additional Responsibilities: Offer limited HR, WHS, and IR legal support, manage minimal Co-Sec duties, and provide general legal guidance on property and lease management.Project Involvement:Participate in monthly project reviews with Business Unit Managers, addressing major claims and project-related legal issues.
