Head of Learning Area - The ArtsBranch: Ashdale Secondary CollegeDivision: Independent Public School - North Metropolitan Education RegionSalary: Level 3, $125,850 - $137,715 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanencyAshdale Secondary College (SC) is a distinctive, world-class educational community of excellence where all students are motivated to strive to achieve their best and to realise their potential in a values-rich environment. The College focuses on student engagement and well-being to ensure students always feel valued.The successful applicant will ideally possess outstanding organisation and interpersonal skills, whilst modelling a positive approach to student learning.As the HOLA - The Arts, the ideal candidate will be able to continue to build the capacity of The Arts Learning Area by providing curriculum leadership and working collaboratively to ensure quality teaching is delivered to meet the needs of all students. The College offers a diverse range of subjects in The Arts including Visual Arts, Dance, Drama and Music.The successful applicant will have strong, demonstrated skills and experience in productions, essential for leading the biennial College production set for staging in 2025. Prior experience as a Musical Director in a production setting is highly desirable. As the HOLA – The Arts, you will support the College community by managing the school's theatre operations, including audio and visual elements, and assisting with other live performance events throughout the College calendar.The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join an innovative leadership team dedicated to designing and developing a distinctive, world-class educational environment. The successful applicant will ideally reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.The Arts Learning Area is a high-performing department with a team of dedicated and passionate teachers, offering a range of programs and courses from Year 7 through to Year 12. Experience with Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) coordination is strongly preferred.The HOLA - The Arts also leads the Languages Team at the College.
