Albany SHS is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic, and dedicated leader as Head of Learning Area – English (HOLA – English).

In alignment with the school's Vision and Business Plan, the HOLA – English will provide exceptional leadership within the English department and collaborate closely with the Principal and School Leadership Team to drive excellence and innovation in teaching.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner capable of developing engaging teaching and learning programs that address the diverse needs of students.
Collaboratively leading the whole school implementation of the Department's Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact is an integral part of the role.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and committed to education, ideally, with leadership experience in an English department.
They should have a thorough understanding of the English curriculum, including the K-10 Western Australian Curriculum and senior school courses, and a proven ability to deliver effective programs that promote inclusivity and challenge for a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities of the role include: Fostering a collaborative and professional growth culture within the English department.
Developing and implementing innovative, inclusive, and challenging English programs that ignite curiosity and a love of learning in students from Years 7-12.
Ensuring effective curriculum delivery, focusing on maximising student achievement and empowering students to take ownership of their learning journey.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with staff, students, and the broader school community.
