St George's Anglican Grammar School is looking for a dynamic, engaging, professional and highly motivated Head of Inclusive Education to join our highly regarded Inclusive Education Centre (IEC) situated in the heart of the School commencing in Semester Two 2024.This is an exciting promotional position for an outstanding educator who is committed to empowering diverse learners by building their confidence and supporting them educationally and socially across Years 7 – 12.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring every student has the opportunity to shine at St George's Anglican Grammar School.To be appointed to this role, you will need to have an innate passion for Inclusive Education and a focus on pastoral care.The role requires strong communication skills and an empathetic leadership style. You will need to be able to work collegially across the School to support the many and varied needs of our students and their families. You will be supported by the team of staff within the IEC, the Head of Pastoral – Student Wellbeing and the Head of Curriculum.The ability to form positive relationships with students with a focus on making the learning environment fun, supportive, engaging, rigorous and relevant in today's modern world will be crucial for the successful applicant to this exciting promotional leadership role.There is an expectation that the successful applicant will also participate in the day-to-day life of the School, including its co-curricular pursuits and the various camp and pastoral care programs.Applications are encouraged from experienced teachers across all teaching disciplines .To be considered for the position, you must be a dedicated and passionate educator who meets the following key appointment selection criteria:Relevant qualifications and experience including ideally higher study in specialist/inclusive education alongside a current teaching qualification relevant to the role.Knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based teaching and learning methods to enhance student learning outcomes preferably in a school-based setting.Proven experience in leading a team of accomplished educators within the inclusive educational context.Knowledge of the construction and development of IEPs and CAPs.Understanding of relevant legislative requirements and experience in managing the disability and funding processes at SCSA, NCCD and AISWA level with the support of the Head of Pastoral – Student Wellbeing and Head of Curriculum.Strong interpersonal skills to allow a close working relationship with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including Heads of Learning Area, Education Assistants, School Counsellor, AISWA consultants, relevant staff from previous schools and other relevant external agencies to facilitate a thorough support network from all students within the school.Knowledge of how to embed a range of successful Gifted and Talented Programs within a school-based setting.The role includes 0.4FTE teaching and a Head of Learning Area responsibility allowance.All applications are to be submitted to our Principal, Mrs Tina Campbell directly c/o Ms Karen van Rooyen, PA to the Principal on ****** detailed job description can be found on the School's website.All documents are to be submitted as a singular PDF.Each applicant must provide the following to be considered for the roleA one page covering letter outlining their passion and enthusiasm for Inclusive Education within a secondary school context.A detailed CV, including the contact details of three professional referees who may be contacted prior to interview.Certified copies of any relevant qualifications including their TRBWA registration details, Inclusive Education/Special Needs qualifications and current WWCC.The closing date for all applications is 0800 on Monday 27 May.Please note that St George's Anglican Grammar School reserves the right to appoint this position prior to the closing date for applications or by invitation and so early applications are strongly encouraged.St George's Anglican Grammar School is a child safe school and is committed to the welfare of children and their protection.
