Reporting to the General Manager of People & Culture the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the required capabilities in the following areas:
Lead Cultural Transformation: Develop and drive a Health & Safety strategy that integrates safety into everyday behaviors across all rail operations.Leadership & Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with safety and wellness goals while nurturing growth and accountability.Empower Employees: Engage employees at all levels, fostering personal accountability for safety and wellness.Ensure Compliance & Best Practices: Oversee compliance with rail safety regulations and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 45001, Rail Safety Acts, COR & NHVR).Promote Wellness & Mental Health: Champion wellness programs addressing both physical safety and mental health, including initiatives for an ageing workforce.Safety as a Journey: Foster a culture of continuous safety improvement and proactive hazard identification.Training & Education: Deliver training to ensure employees understand and uphold safety standards.Audit & Improvement: Lead audits and drive improvements to maintain robust, evolving safety systems.Champion Change: Use change management strategies to inspire cultural shifts toward safer, healthier, and compliant practices.Reporting to Executive Team: Provide regular updates and reports on safety metrics to the Executive Team.Establish Monitoring Channels: Implement systems to track safety compliance, identify risks early, and ensure accountability across operations.Desired Skills and ExperienceDesired Skills and Experience The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
