About the Role Reporting line to the Partner, Pro Bono, Community & Environment (PBCE); our Head of Environmental and Operational Sustainability is responsible for leading both the development & delivery of the firm's Environment Strategy and the implementation and ongoing management of it operationally.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is comfortable with a hands-on role and is passionate about sustainability, environmental change, and organisational responses to climate change.
Responsibilities include: Deliver our Environment Strategy, including establishing and setting targets, strategy and governance structures to ensure the execution of Zero waste and SBTi net Zero commitments.Key responsibility for governance, procurement, financial accounting to support firm's environment targets.Lead the implementation of strategically aligned operations including sustainable operations, procurement, supplier management, accounting, analytics, technology and innovation reporting to the CFO.Driving procurement strategy and implementation of sustainable supply chains.Operationalising sustainability and procurement goals across areas such as storage, catering, cleaning, PaperLite, Waste, Occupancy, travel, entertainment, electricity and other energy usage.Working closely with leaders of PBCE, People team and RAP Chair and Modern Slavery Working Group to ensure that operations are aligned with social goals of the People Team, PBCE and RAP strategies.Leading collaborative work with IHub including implementation of a data insights application for tracking environment and social benefit procurement commitments.About You Suitable candidates must bring existing experience in an environmental, governance or similar role.Have an Environment and/or Sustainability focussed tertiary qualification.Highly numerate and data rational, ability to analyse and interpret data to identify and focus on evidence based ESG opportunities and achievements.Financial literacy in budgets, P&L statements, leveraging models and knowledge of law firm metrics and governance.A deep knowledge of accountability to/operationalising ESG strategic goals.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word/Excel/databases and other firm programs.Experience in a private practice firm including in practice and revenue stream development is highly advantageous.Experience in knowledge capturing and data management, analysis of data, financial metrics, innovation and technology.Experience in assisting an organisation to bring about internal systems change including working with all levels of an organisation.Experience working across supply chains and internal services to build value for organisations.Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, particularly the ability to earn the confidence and trust of key stakeholders.Effective influencing and negotiation capability including during organisational transformation and change management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise work to meet key deliverables.The ability to facilitate presentations and meetings with varying sizes of groups internally and externally to organisation.Identifies risks and complies with group risk management protocol.Culture People choose Landers for our down-to-earth, collaborative and supportive culture.
