Job DescriptionAs the Head of Engineering, reporting to the CIO, you'll be a key member of the IT Leadership Team. You'll collaborate with Cyber Security, Architecture, Service Management, Business Intelligence, and Digital to drive the Enterprise IT Strategy. This role is crucial in shaping our application portfolio to meet evolving business needs, aligning the technology strategy with the business's mission, vision, and values.Your RoleIn the role, you will:Provide guidance and direction to engineering teams, fostering skill development and innovation.Create new applications to meet customer needs, both internally and through vendors.Ensure software development practices meet industry standards and security protocols.Promote new technologies and methodologies to boost efficiency and product quality.Maintain the stability and quality of the core platform and overall architecture.Oversee daily operations of engineering teams, ensuring high standards and efficiency.Drive and manage relationships with external technology partners and suppliers.Assess vendor performance based on quality, delivery time, and service levels.Lead negotiations, improve efficiencies, and measure savings from vendor contracts.Develop and implement the Technology strategy, aligning it with business goals and driving key changes.QualificationsAbout you:You will be a visionary and strategic thinker, passionate about leveraging technology to drive business success. Your dedication to continuous improvement and staying ahead of industry trends makes you an inspiring and effective leader.Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.Over 10 years' experience in a similar role and at least 15 years in IT.Relevant industry certifications.Proven leadership experience in managing Technology divisions.Deep knowledge of Technology Infrastructure, Applications, Banking Systems, and Technology Architecture.Experience aligning technology strategy with business strategy.Proven experience in the financial services sector, including retail and business banking.Understanding of delivery methodologies from waterfall to agile, with experience embedding them.Experience in Release management and DevOps.Solid foundation in cloud technologies, AI, automation, quality engineering, and integration.Additional InformationSee yourself in our team:You will be joining a dynamic IT team where we provide exceptional technical support to our internal users.
