Our vision is to bring the heritage of New South Wales to life for future generations through advocating for the conservation and protection of our built, cultural, and natural heritage.About the Role - What you'll be doingLocated at our office on Observatory Hill in Millers Point, Sydney, the Head of Development is responsible for developing and implementing a diversified fundraising strategy, which includes Appeals, Regular Giving, Major Gifts, Bequests, and donor programs that deliver revenue growth to achieve agreed income targets. This role will suit someone who has a solid understanding of what inspires others to donate to a cause and who can demonstrate exceptional influencing skills. Importantly, they also advocate for and embed a culture of giving across the National Trust.About you - Who we're looking forThis is a key position which drives our financial sustainability and we're looking for someone who thrives on a challenge. To deliver this role successfully, you'll need to have:At least 10 years in a similar role.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively negotiate and influence while representing an organisation.Sound knowledge of fundraising principles, policies, and procedures.Proven success in building fundraising campaigns, with major donors and/or charitable trusts and foundations to raise substantial funds, or similar transferable skills and experience.Demonstrated experience in analysing data from audience insight and systems such as CRMs to drive specific campaigns or revenue targets.A history of being results-driven, self-motivated, and passionate about working in the not-for-profit space.Demonstrated ability to develop and measure relationship management plans and build exceptional relationships.High levels of personal enthusiasm, commitment to, and involvement in the work of the Trust, including engagement in occasional weekend and evening activities.Understanding of the aims and ethos of the National Trust, in particular the ambition for developing the financial sustainability of the organisation through connection with our communities.Benefits for working at the National Trust include:Free parking at the workplace (Sydney CBD)Free entry to our propertiesSalary PackagingThis is a big job and we're looking for someone who not only brings enthusiasm and passion to the role but who believes in what we stand for.
