This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Harrisdale Senior High School (SHS) is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, attracting students from diverse geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. With a student population of over 2200, approximately 180 teaching staff, and 70 support staff, the school offers an inclusive and comprehensive education for Years 7 to 12.

Harrisdale SHS is seeking an innovative and experienced leader to assume the position of Head of Department (HOD) – Technologies and Enterprise. This role involves overseeing the leadership and management of the Technologies Learning Area, encompassing both Home Economics and Materials and Technologies subjects.
As a key member of the school's leadership team, the HOD – Technologies and Enterprise will collaborate with the Principal and other leaders to promote the school's vision, mission, and values. They will ensure that all programs meet the mandated curriculum requirements as prescribed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA).
Key responsibilities include developing and promoting pathways for student learning, including extension and enrichment programs, and ensuring that learning area programs support both vocational and academic pathways for students from Years 7 to 12. The HOD will provide curriculum leadership and oversee the development of strategic initiatives that enhance teaching quality and student outcomes across the learning area.
Additional duties involve managing the department's operational plan, budget, and resources, facilitating staff development through mentoring and classroom observations, and promoting collaboration within the team. The successful applicant will also engage with the wider school community, coordinating events, excursions, and activities that highlight student achievements in Technologies.
