Chinchilla State High School has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dedicated Head of Department - Student Engagement (focusing on Junior Secondary) to join the Chinchilla leadership team, delivering the vision of State Schools Division.
This role is offered on a full-time temporary basis from 23 January 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.
The successful applicant will develop the quality of teaching and learning and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.

About the RoleResponsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:
Case management of year level students who demonstrate challenging behaviours.Provision of timetabled programs and other proactive behaviour support and engagement strategies for year level students.Liaising with support personnel inside and outside of the school to increase the scope of intervention for year level students.Liaising with parents and carers of year level students regarding welfare, well-being, behaviour, engagement and support issues.Supporting year level teachers to increase the scope of pedagogical and behavioural strategies used to increase student engagement.Monitor and review attendance data of year level students and provide relevant intervention.Development, analysis and distribution of cohort datasets relating to student behaviour and engagement.Leadership of Junior Secondary Wellbeing programs with Year Level Coordinators.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
