The Head of the Science and Technology Department at Girton Grammar School plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving the school's teaching and learning strategies. The Head of Department is responsible for delivering the school's pedagogical model across the department to a high standard, ensuring that all students are provided with the opportunities and support they need to excel academically and personally.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Appropriate qualification and current registration as a teacher. Proven experience in educational leadership either formal or informal, with a track record of excellent teaching. Strong understanding of educational research around the science of learning and explicit instruction. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in an educational context. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with educators and stakeholders at all levels. Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. A commitment to professional development. Excellent personal communication, administrative and organisational skills. Commitment to student wellbeing and child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children. Commitment to co-curricular activities.
