This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Coodanup College is seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Learning Area - English to join their leadership team.
Coodanup College is a co-educational public college located 80km south of Perth in the beautiful, coastal City of Mandurah.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the leadership and management of the English Learning Area, driving a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.
As a key member of the school's leadership team, the Head of English should collaborate closely with the Principal and other leaders to promote the school's vision, mission, and values, ensuring high-quality educational outcomes for all students.
In this role, the successful applicant will oversee the planning, assessment, and reporting of student progress in line with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA).
A key focus will be on supporting staff to deliver engaging and rigorous programs that align with the school's pedagogical emphasis and Teaching and Learning Framework.
The Head of English will also play a pivotal role in promoting literacy strategies, extension programs, and enrichment opportunities across the learning area, while ensuring the provision of effective support for students with special needs or at risk of underachievement.
Key responsibilities include leading curriculum development and facilitating the performance management and development of staff through classroom observations and mentoring.
The role may also involve managing the English Learning Area's operational plan, budget, and resources, as well as coordinating events such as excursions, incursions, and school-wide presentations.
The successful applicant will ideally have strong leadership skills, the ability to foster a collaborative and supportive team culture, and a commitment to continuous professional learning.
