Be involved in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. To be involved in the provision of patient services, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research as appropriate.
To be involved in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. To be involved in the provision of patient services, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research as appropriate.To be involved in quality assurance activities; including best practice initiatives and clinical audit, and to assist in the overall coordination of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit.It is intended that the successful candidate will be involved in the Head & Neck reconstruction teams; whilst also providing support to the general running of the department.About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Under supervision, attend to the overall management of patients and operating theatre lists.Participate in Plastics Outpatient clinics.Treat inpatients and organise operating lists for maximal efficiency.With the scope of the position, undertake and supervise emergency surgery as required .Cover the unit from time to time in the Outpatient Department and Operating Room in the absence of the other unit registrars.Assist in the training of the Plastic Registrars, Principal House Officers and Residents, particularly to encourage training and participation in Plastics at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.Health Equity It is expected that all Metro North Health staff, including the incumbent of this role as a valuable member of the Metro North workforce, contribute to the health equity agenda and meet the intent of supporting the defined six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS), by actively supporting the elimination of racial discrimination and institutional racism; supporting increased access to health care; influencing the social, cultural and economic determinants of health; supporting the delivery of sustainable, culturally safe and responsive health services; and recognise the importance of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations to design, deliver, monitor and review the health and support services we provide.
